Transcriptional regulation upon stimulation of the adenyl ate cyclase pathway is mediated by
the family of cAMP response element (CRE)-binding proteins (reviewed in reference 1). This
family consists of a large number of transcription factors containing basic domain/leucine
zipper (bZip) motifs (reviewed in reference 2). We have recently cloned a novel member of
